About Me

Dennis Bell

This is me

Welcome to my “About” page. I see this page as an opportunity to introduce myself and have you become familiar with me. It’s not my resume’ or my family history.

It all started in a 10,000 watt radio station in Fresno, California…showing my age there without the actual number.

I’m Dennis Bell and I live in Columbus Ohio with my wife and two youngest daughters. Raising daughters is an adventure every day and it’s one I wouldn’t miss for the world.

Much of my life was spent in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I was born and raised. I also raised my two older children there. They and the rest of my family remain in Pittsburgh so I/we return several times a year. As they say in Pittsburgh, “It’s a ‘burgh thing.”

I grew up working in my father’s small business and learned many lessons there. That experience sparked something in me that has led me into several business interests over the years with varying levels of success.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (Stillers to you yinzers) are in my blood. It has nothing to do with their current performance or being the first team to win 6 Super Bowls. It’s just in my blood. Just look at the Steelers fans at their away games all over the country and you’ll see what I mean.

And oh yeah…in 2010 I had a brain tumor. I was blessed in many ways and am 99.9% recovered. It’s a long story and undeniably part of MY story. I’m reluctant to lead with that information as I’m reluctant to be “the brain tumor guy”. It doesn’t define me but, as we’re all a product of our experiences, it’s a factor in who I am. I’m also extremely happy to be here to tell the story! Some people even say I’m much better looking now! :-)

Dennis, thanks for sharing your story. Happy to hear you are healthy and though my story is different as I had Lyme Disease, like you, I don’t want that to define me. Just want to help others better understand it and help them get there life’s back. Thank you for all the sharing of other blogs in twitter, you are very kind. Enjoy, Carol

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog Carol! I believe it was Emerson who said health is our first wealth, right? We’re all in this together. Great to be on the journey with you!
